Shaun Donovan

“A family’s single biggest investment is its home. That investment is how most families send their kids to college, start a business. It’s retirement savings, a decent life after you’ve stopped working. That’s what a home means to most families in this country. And that keeps me up at night.”

A native of New York, Shaun L. S. Donovan is secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development. Recognizing the widespread personal, social, and economic benefits of access to secure homes and neighborhoods, he has focused on rejuvenating American cities, addressing the problem of foreclosures, and alleviating homelessness.
