Martha Raddatz

“The administration really doesn’t want us to talk about Afghanistan that much. They don’t want it to be a central factor. My job is to find some way to tell a story so that people will remember that we are there. This is a huge cost in blood and treasure.”

Martha Raddatz is senior foreign affairs correspondent for ABC News. She has played a central role covering the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan while addressing the presentation of those conflicts by the White House and the Pentagon. Her book The Long Road Home, about the war in Iraq, became a best-seller.
